Statement

Variety in nature has always fascinated me and it has provided subject matter with the freedom to paint exotic combinations of vibrant colors and shapes. While nature and new discoveries in nature have inspired my work, I do not take science literally. I use artistic freedom to change and modify animals and plants to create a unique environment, one perhaps that scientists have yet to discover.
Some artists believe watercolor painting is one of the most misunderstood and difficult of mediums. I paint with regard to color and composition but a general disregard for the technique of watercolor painting. Pushing the painting beyond the rules has produced exciting and stimulating results. I believe the paintings are testimony to this.
