Vincent is an self-taught in sculpture. He was born in the north of France and has travelled all over the world since he was 18. To earn his living, while travelling, he learned different trades --carpenter, brick layer, stone cutter, reinforced concrete and architecture. He worked on restoring cathedral and monuments in Europe and Canada and from there began to study sculpture, drawing, painting on his own. He also learned portrait sculpture with Arto in Montreal.
In various countries he worked as a practitioner for different sculptors and learned the trade of monumental sculptures from them. He later gave classes of sculpture in the Saydie Bronfman Fine Arts School in Montreal for 5 years.
For twenty years he has worked in his own studios, in Canada, Mexico and France (paintings, drawings, stained-glass, out and indoor sculptures). He also works in concrete (masonry techniques) covered with mosaics, and in different steels (Corten, stainless and black).
He has been commissioned for outdoor sculptures for private collections as well as towns and museums in Canada, France and Mexico. |
