Born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, 1941, Mike Weber received his M.F.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1984. He studied ceramic sculpture at the Artigas Foundation, Gallifa, Spain, and has been teaching art for over fifteen years at Beloit College, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and currently at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He has been a lecturer and visiting artist at the Kansai Gaidai University of Foreign Studies in Hirakata City, Japan, the University of Wisconsin, and the University of Iowa.
He has traveled extensively and has studied ceramic art with Joanette Artigas in Spain, and Shiro Tsujimura in Japan. He is currently creating human size, polychrorne ceramic sculpture and wood-fired ceramics. He has exhibited his work in New York, San Francisco, Barcelona, and Tokyo. His work is in collections in many countries. Currently, he is exhibiting at Dai Ichi Gallery in New York City, Bilhenry Gallery in Milwaukee, and Moegi Gallery in Japan.
